Visualizing Climate Change

About:

In my capstone course at UCSC, four group members and I set out to learn the JavaScript library D3.js and create unique, interactive data visualizations surrounding climate change. Below is my contribution to the project.

Instructions:

Use the +1, +5, and +10 buttons to increase the year being visualized by 1, 5, and 10 years respectively. Similarly, use the -1, -5, -10 buttons to decrease the year. By default, the visualization is in "Isolated" mode, meaning the data you see is the amount of Carbon Dioxide emitted by each country for that particular year (in metric tons). To change this, select the "Compare" button, which shows you the overall change in emissions from one particular year to any other year. Use the text box just below the "Compare" button to change the year(s) being visualized. Note: any year after the year 2017 is predicted data obtained using a linear extrapolation formula.
